Between the Wild Branches Review

If you are looking for a book that you won’t be able to put down, this is it! Connilyn Cossette has filled this book with many twists and turns and edge of your seat moments. I cried a few times, I held my breath many times. I had imaginary conversations with the characters time and time again. Through it all, Cossette confirms that Jesus can help us put our past behind us while giving us a hopeful future full of love and joy.  This is the last of a two book series, so we already know part of the characters. The  characters have been through much in the past ten years since the end of To Dwell Among Cedars. Cossette does a great job of continuing the character development - suspenseful but satisfying. Just when I was tempted to flip through and find out why Shoshana had to stay where she was, a few pages later, it was revealed.  As she has done in her previous two series (Out From Egypt and Cities of Refuge), Cossette does a wonderful job of interlinking relationshi...

Bridge of Gold Review

This is another fantastic book by Kimberley Woodhouse! (Honestly, it’s only my second one by her - The Mayflower Bride was my first - but, it’s great nonetheless!!). I loved the way the storylines flowed - each was distinct yet interconnected. I love when historical fiction gets me interested in a period of history, and Mrs Woodhouse has done that with the legend, lore, and history of The Golden Gate Bridge. Mrs Woodhouse did a thorough job of researching the area during the different time periods. The dual timelines are seamless and flow well. The character development is flawless, and the plot line keeps a great, captivating pace. I do have one complaint - I did not get much sleep while reading this book!!! :) it kept me up at night with the “just one more chapter” syndrome. I highly recommend this book, and I am off to find other books by Kimberley Woodhouse! About the Book Book:   Bridge of Gold Author:  Kimberley Woodhouse Genre:  Christian Historical Rel...

The Paris Dressmaker Review

This was my third book by Kristy Cambron and the hardest one to read. Not because of anything Mrs Cambron has done, but because anything written around World War 2 is always harder for me to read. It is a very dark time in our history, but as people like Mrs Cambron have pointed out through their works, there are several bright lights even in the darkest of times if we know where to look. I previously read The Ringmasters Wife (which is still one of my top 10 books!!) and The Illusionist’s Apprentice.  I enjoyed the book tremendously. My only regret is that what she based it on was actually a true story of a horrifying time in history.  I received a copy of the ebook from the publisher. I was not required to give a positive review, and all opinions are my own.
