The Story Peddler Review

Image
Lindsay A Franklin has done a fantastic job of weaving a story of her own in this fantastic book, The Story Peddler. I had not previously read any books written by Franklin, but I was not disappointed in this one! From the opening chapter, Franklin does a wonderful job of dropping you right into the story world; however, she does not lack on details. The world is built well, and while you are dropped right in, she also explains through circumstances along the way. The characters and their dynamics mesh well together throughout the entire story and I do not feel as if any relationships or dynamics are forced upon the reader.  The conflicts and situations in the story are set up well, flow smoothly, and resolve seamlessly. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of this series as well as  future stories of Lindsay Franklin! Selling stories is a deadly business Tanwen doesn’t just tell stories—she weaves them into crystallized sculptures that sell

The Traitor’s Pawn Review

Image
In The Traitor’s Pawn, Lisa Harris takes us on a captivating, thrilling journey into the world of Jack Shannon and Aubrey Grayson. Harris builds the character lives and words quickly and seamlessly, in this fast paced action book, we are taken into a heart wrenching, heart beat racing thrill ride. Harris has a wonderful climax to the book that leaves us clinging to our seats in anticipation of what is coming up! This was a first book read of Harris, and it won’t be the last! I was provided a copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Guiding the Next Great Generation

Image
In Guiding the Next Great Generation, Jonathan Catherman take us on a journey to help the older generation reach back across the bridge and help the younger generation become the next generation. But, not just any new generation - a truly great one. One that can only become great by faith and trust in Jesus Christ. I love the cover of the book and the bridge symbolism. A lot of times things going from generation to generation are not seamless, but Catherman strives to help people see a way to help it become seamless.

Eden Review and Giveaway!

Image
I was very excited when I found out I was going to be able to be part of the Eden Celebration Tour. I have previously read Babel, and loved it! This book was definitely not a disappointment. I was thrilled with the way Brennan McPherson conducted the book as if it were dialog of reflective memories between Adam and Enoch. He was also very discreet and respectful with mentions of intimacy. In this book, McPherson develops the characters well. He introduces us to Adam and Enoch, and then brings us back to the memories of the beginning, in Eden. Throughout the story, we see the way that it may have been as Adam and Eve were tempted, sinned, and had to find a new life outside of the garden. We follow the story through Cain killing Abel and the aftermath of that monumental occasion. McPherson has thoroughly researched Biblical history and comments about it in his notes after the story. He is quick to tell you that the book is a fictional account, but that he has followed the Biblical acc

Before I Called You Mine Review

Image
Before I Called You Mine is another of my face mask wearing, quarantine reads, but I’m kinda glad for that. This is a book that it’s okay to be alone while reading. Nicole Deese has taken a topic that a lot of us hear about, but are never really involved with, and she has opened up a heart tugging, emotional tale that will leave you longing for more. I absolutely loved this book. From the opening chapter to the very last word, Deese had me laughing, crying, and praying about our future. Deese builds the world of Lauren and Joshua flawlessly, and allows her characters to grow and blossom. Highly inspirational, Before I Called You Mine is a must read! I received a book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

The House at the End of the Moor Review

Image
You can definitely tell what season we are in by the mask on my face! I can’t let quarantine keep me away from fantastic books though, and fantastic is exactly what The House at the End Of the Moor by Michelle Griep is! Written in the style of Charles Dickens and Jane Austin, we as readers are instantly transported back to a time period that no longer exists, I am thrilled with the way Griep builds the literary world. She has taken the time period, thoroughly researched, and blessed us with an amazing story that you won’t want to put down! I know a lot of us depend on Amazon for books and that they are slower right now, but a lot of other retailers are stepping up with discounts and faster shipping time that should help during this time! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

The Happy Camper Review

Image
In The Happy Camper, Melody Carlson develops a world and story line that is easy to imagine actually happening to you. Carlson draws you in and makes you feel as if you are really there and taking part in the story. Character development is great and the right speed throughout. The plot flows smoothly and is believable in how it is played out. The characters are like able and believable. The only thing I didn’t like is that it ended! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions given are my own.
