The House at the End of the Moor Review



You can definitely tell what season we are in by the mask on my face! I can’t let quarantine keep me away from fantastic books though, and fantastic is exactly what The House at the End
Of the Moor by Michelle Griep is! Written in the style of Charles Dickens and Jane Austin, we as readers are instantly transported back to a time period that no longer exists, I am thrilled with the way Griep builds the literary world. She has taken the time period, thoroughly researched, and blessed us with an amazing story that you won’t want to put down!
I know a lot of us depend on Amazon for books and that they are slower right now, but a lot of other retailers are stepping up with discounts and faster shipping time that should help during this time!

  When thinking of a Cinderella retelling, my mind certainly never went to the world that Chautona Havig has created. Havig has taken something “ordinary” and “mundane” and used her creative genius to form a world brimming with new possibilities. At the start of the book, Havig begins setting the stage with the main characters and we learn who is who. As the plot moves along, Havig does an excellent job of building the world and storyline. The plot moves along at a great pace and the character building is on par. But, this is what I have come to expect from a Havig book! Forget and Now Review and Giveaway

This is the first story I have read by Alana Terry and I was blown away! Alana Terry was able to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end. Not only was I captivated, I also did not guess what had happened until the last bit. It was a well drawn out and perfectly time suspense! The characters are well developed and the story line flows wonderfully. Bridge of Gold Review

  This is another fantastic book by Kimberley Woodhouse! (Honestly, it’s only my second one by her - The Mayflower Bride was my first - but, it’s great nonetheless!!). I loved the way the storylines flowed - each was distinct yet interconnected. I love when historical fiction gets me interested in a period of history, and Mrs Woodhouse has done that with the legend, lore, and history of The Golden Gate Bridge. Mrs Woodhouse did a thorough job of researching the area during the different time periods. The dual timelines are seamless and flow well. The character development is flawless, and the plot line keeps a great, captivating pace. I do have one complaint - I did not get much sleep while reading this book!!! :) it kept me up at night with the “just one more chapter” syndrome. I highly recommend this book, and I am off to find other books by Kimberley Woodhouse!
