Before I Called You Mine Review

Before I Called You Mine is another of my face mask wearing, quarantine reads, but I’m kinda glad for that. This is a book that it’s okay to be alone while reading. Nicole Deese has taken a topic that a lot of us hear about, but are never really involved with, and she has opened up a heart tugging, emotional tale that will leave you longing for more. I absolutely loved this book. From the opening chapter to the very last word, Deese had me laughing, crying, and praying about our future.
Deese builds the world of Lauren and Joshua flawlessly, and allows her characters to grow and blossom. Highly inspirational, Before I Called You Mine is a must read!

  When thinking of a Cinderella retelling, my mind certainly never went to the world that Chautona Havig has created. Havig has taken something “ordinary” and “mundane” and used her creative genius to form a world brimming with new possibilities. At the start of the book, Havig begins setting the stage with the main characters and we learn who is who. As the plot moves along, Havig does an excellent job of building the world and storyline. The plot moves along at a great pace and the character building is on par. But, this is what I have come to expect from a Havig book! This is the first story I have read by Alana Terry and I was blown away! Alana Terry was able to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end. Not only was I captivated, I also did not guess what had happened until the last bit. It was a well drawn out and perfectly time suspense! Childhood Review and Giveaway!

In Childhood, we are able to see into the “beginning of the story” so to speak, and see where the main  characters in Greg Schaffer’s upcoming full length novel Fatherhood are coming from. I like the fact that we see into the backgrounds - a lot of times when we don’t know the background of someone, we are quick to judge rather than feel compassion.
