A Dress Shop on King Street Review


 Ashley Clark’s debut full length novel does not disappoint! I was drawn to the era Clark chose to write in as well as the geographical area. We once lived in the same county as Fairhope. 

I adore split time fiction, and Clark fuses the timelines together seamlessly. Character development is great as well as the pace of the plot.

I’m greatly anticipating her next novel which looks just as lovely as the first!

  When thinking of a Cinderella retelling, my mind certainly never went to the world that Chautona Havig has created. Havig has taken something “ordinary” and “mundane” and used her creative genius to form a world brimming with new possibilities. At the start of the book, Havig begins setting the stage with the main characters and we learn who is who. As the plot moves along, Havig does an excellent job of building the world and storyline. The plot moves along at a great pace and the character building is on par. But, this is what I have come to expect from a Havig book! This is the first story I have read by Alana Terry and I was blown away! Alana Terry was able to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end. Not only was I captivated, I also did not guess what had happened until the last bit. It was a well drawn out and perfectly time suspense!
