Chautona Havig has done a fantastic job of working a short story in that packs a big punch! The story flows smoothly and gives a complete story in a small amount of space.

When thinking of a Cinderella retelling, my mind certainly never went to the world that Chautona Havig has created. Havig has taken something “ordinary” and “mundane” and used her creative genius to form a world brimming with new possibilities. At the start of the book, Havig begins setting the stage with the main characters and we learn who is who. As the plot moves along, Havig does an excellent job of building the world and storyline. The plot moves along at a great pace and the character building is on par. But, this is what I have come to expect from a Havig book! Havig crafts great stories period. While this is not a storyline I would have come up with, at the end, Havig will leave you believing that it is a wonderful real world. That’s the thing with great storytellers - they have the ability to take something no one else would dream of and make an amazing work of art out of it.
