Aiming For Love Review and Giveaway!


I’ll be honest here: when I first started reading the book, I thought it would be a Robin Hood type of retelling because I did not look at the picture closely or read the description. Completely my fault!! 

This was my first book by Mary Connealy, and I have found a new favorite author! In Aiming for Love we are transported back in time to an era when anything could happen. Jo seems a little rough around the edges at first, but as the story progresses, she quickly became a favorite. I love how Mary Connealy touched on subjects and did not make them out to be just any old mountain people. Instead she opened our eyes to a possibility of why people were the way they were in that time period. 

From the first time Jo sneaked around to the very last line, I loved this story! I am very excited to see that she will be making this into a trilogy and will be touching on each of the sisters because I want to see how their stories unfold as well!

I was provided a copy of this book through Celebrate Lit and netgalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to write a review.

I wanted to explore that idea: wild children, tough young women, afraid of the invading world, but lonely, too. So I created the plot for my Brides of Hope Mountain series by mixing the three little girls who’d grown up wild on the top of a mountain with some fairy tale ideas.
Book one, Aiming for Love, is Josephine Nordegren’s story. I had this vision of Ariel the mermaid seeing a man for the first time when strangers invade the high valley she lives in with only her two sisters. Curiosity is her besetting sin, or so she’s always been told. She has wilderness skills, mainly in the form of owning a bow and arrow and understanding wild animals, but for the first time, she is drawn to a man.
Jo needs to be tamed, or Dave, the man she can’t stop watching from in the woods, needs to learn the ways of the wild, because they’re out of place in each other’s worlds.

Havig has taken something “ordinary” and “mundane” and used her creative genius to form a world brimming with new possibilities. Forget and Now Review and Giveaway

This is the first story I have read by Alana Terry and I was blown away! Alana Terry was able to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end. Not only was I captivated, I also did not guess what had happened until the last bit. It was a well drawn out and perfectly time suspense! Bridge of Gold Review

  This is another fantastic book by Kimberley Woodhouse! (Honestly, it’s only my second one by her - The Mayflower Bride was my first - but, it’s great nonetheless!!). I loved the way the storylines flowed - each was distinct yet interconnected. I love when historical fiction gets me interested in a period of history, and Mrs Woodhouse has done that with the legend, lore, and history of The Golden Gate Bridge. Mrs Woodhouse did a thorough job of researching the area during the different time periods. The dual timelines are seamless and flow well. The character development is flawless, and the plot line keeps a great, captivating pace. I do have one complaint - I did not get much sleep while reading this book!!! :) it kept me up at night with the “just one more chapter” syndrome. I highly recommend this book, and I am off to find other books by Kimberley Woodhouse!
